After seeing the Lake Domain Playground, across the lake while enjoying Innes Common, we knew we had to go check it out soon. It was only a couple days later that we made our way over there and we were blown away. There were so many kinds of activities for varying age groups. There’s even a gated toddler specific area over by the public toilets. The quality of the structures was impressive.

It was also nice seeing things that wouldn’t usually be an option in the overly litigious US. Having ACC in New Zealand allows kids to just be kids without having to constantly worry about liability and unexpected medical bills. Kids have the option to push their limits and discover what they are capable of. Of course, we still ask them to be careful, but we don’t feel as much pressure to hover over them and make sure that nothing bad happens. It allows them to be more self-governing.
